Skadi February 1998 - November 15th, 1999

Pixie and Skadi came to our home, shortly after Shelley's death. On a Saturday in June 1998, we went to the local shelter and found a small rattie family. We decided to adopt two of the young females. Pixie and Skadi had been born in the shelter in February 1998 and were not used to being handled. They were nervous and shy but after many months of handling and lots of love and patience, the two sisters learned to trust us.

Pixie grew some tumors in her short life and when we tried to remove the third one, we discovered it had grown deeply into her spine. We decided to have Pixie euthanized to spare her suffering.

Skadi developed a pituitary tumor in December 1999 and she quietly left us one night.

Skadi and Pixie we miss you.

Pixie's Quirks

	Alpha rat par excellence. Master and Commander so to speak.
	Athlete, special discipline: food-athon.
	Not fazed at all by the adoption of three more rats into her group.

Skadi's Quirks

	Nicknamed "Vampirella". Yes, down to the bone. Thru the nail. Ouch.
	Raider of Pixie's stashes. Hence a little pudgy.
	Tremendous Beauty with dark glossy smooth coat and sparkly eyes.
