Hashim aka Hasi approx. Spring 2005 - April 21, 2007

Hasi, our great white lady, has moved on. She had a very eventful life, because of a head tilt, nobody wanted to adopt the lovely albino girl. In December 2005, she had the great luck to be adopted by my friend Ursi. In May 2006, Hasi and her 6 friends came to live with us for the rest of their lives. Hasi was a very intelligent, lovable rattie, who never hurt anyone. She did have some problems finding her way thru our apartment at the beginning because of her head tilt. But she was free ranging so often, she soon got the hang of it and had no more problems with anything. Her favorite place was the topmost level of the uebercage, where she used to snooze in her tunnel. She was the core of our rat group, the heart, so to speak. Grooming her friends and getting groomed in return was one of her fave pasttimes.

Two months ago, Hasi developed a tumor on her hip bone. The tumor was very hard and grew quickly. We knew it was inoperable, so we decided to let her enjoy her life as long as possible. When the tumor got so big that her movement was impeded, we helped Hasi over the bridge. An active, fun-loving rattie who has difficulty to get around, will not have much quality of life. Like this, Hasi enjoyed every minute of her stay with us. From a fearful, screaming, shy rat, she went to being a trusting, tame rattie who often looked at us with her twinkling red eyes as if to say: Love you, guys :) We will miss you in our lives, Hasi.

Hasi's quirks:

	Shoveling the litter out of the litter trays. She could create a real mess and make a big racket.
	Loved long treks thru the living room and corridor.
	Trusted Bunny the most. He often picked her up and she was not unhappy about it.
	Loved rubbing peppermint leaves into her fur, which left her looking like a green-white dalmatian.
	Wonderful white lovely fur which she kept spotlessly clean. Not so keen on doing that with her tail tho.
	Because of her head tilt, she had a funny walk. It was very loud and pronounced.
