Varesh - February 2007 - April 25, 2009

Today we had to say goodbye to lovely Varesh. Despite two surgeries, the tumors kept returning and had grown to a size where we thought it might be better to have the little darling euthanized instead of waiting until the very last minute. Varesh had become thinner, the tumors taking away most of her substance. She had a long and happy life with us. Although she did not really like humans, she was fond of hands who brought goodies. Varesh lived with her friends, Elona, Vabbi and Istani all her life. The last few months we tried to introduce her to the argonauts but Varesh did not seem interested. She was content to roam the apartment, receive lots of goodies and sleep in her favourite tunnels and nests. Her journey has come to an end on this world. We are certain she has enjoyed her stay and we will miss her.

Varesh's quirks

	Beautiful black rat, with only a few white spots on her belly and twinkly black eyes.
	She could bite that hand that fed her. You had to respect her boundaries or else. Usually just a warning bite, not too deep.
	Despite her size, she was a big rat, not fat but big, she did never assume the alpha position but left that to Vabbi.
	Her fave treats were the multivit paste and the vanilla & malt biscuits, she would run from every corner of the apartment to get a treat.
	She never really fought with other rats but preferred to get out of the way of the fights, a pacifist.
	Very strong rattie, despite her large tumors, she never gave up.
